Any parent can tell you that it is nearly impossible for a small child to keep their room tidy, even for a few hours. I tried and tried to get my daughter to keep her room neat, but it just wasn’t happening. I thought she was just being lazy or stubborn, until I watched her one day. She was trying to keep her room neat, but she really didn’t have the proper storage for her pencils, crayons and paint. If she had containers that stacked, she might have more room to put her stuff away properly.

I went into the kitchen and gathered all my small Tupperware plastic containers that I was not using. My daughter and I organized all her art supplies which was her messiest area. The rectangular Tupperware plastic containers were perfect for pencils and crayons. Even if they did tip over, the lid stayed secure. The larger Tupperware plastic containers worked great for Barbie and all the Barbie clothes. Now my daughter’s Barbie doll isn’t always missing one shoe.

I had her put all her paints into another container. Tupperware plastic containers work great for paints and they really seal tight. No more ruined carpets. When my daughter is using the paint, she leaves the open bottle inside the Tupperware plastic container. That way if she accidentally bumps it, the paint jar just tips over into the Tupperware plastic container and not onto her desk.

One day my daughters class at school was painting pictures. My daughter asked her teacher where her “paint bottle container” was, and after my daughter explained, the teacher decided to use the idea in her classroom. I was easier for the children to handle a square plastic container, especially if they were sharing paint bottles.

I don’t let my daughter pour any paint into the Tupperware plastic containers, so I can still use them for leftover storage. I love using the Tupperware containers because I can just take them out of the fridge and take them to work for lunch. No more spilled lunches anymore. You really can’t have enough small Tupperware plastic containers in your home, they just have so many uses.
